Dry skin cannot be ignored. If you have it, then you will be aware that it is the cracking of the upper layer which then gives it a bad appearance. There are many different causes of dry skin but the main ones are things like dry climate and hormonal changes. There are some people that have always suffered with dry skin. If this is the case with you, maybe you should give a natural dry skin treatment a go and see if it makes a difference.

Most people choose a moisturizer when they have dry skin and this can be hugely beneficial. Generally moisturisers are classified under 2 categories based on the way they provide dry skin care.

The first category includes moisturisers that provide dry skin care just by preserving the moisture within the skin e.g. Vaseline. You can find these moisturizers at many cosmetics shops and they are quite cheap.

Then there is the other category, which has moisturizers that draw actual moisture from the environment and nourish the skin. This type of moisturizer is called a humectant. In order to get the most benefits for your skin, use a non-greasy moisturizer. In fact, humectants fall into this category. In humectants, you can expect to find properties such as glycerine and glycol.

Try natural dry skin treatments, as they don’t include the use of synthetic chemicals. By using a natural skin product you are keeping your skin healthy and replenishing the moisture within the skin. In order to prevent skin dryness, it should be noted that you should use the right water temperature when showering etc, otherwise it could encourage dry skin if the water is too hot.

At the end of the day, looking after dry skin is all about being gentle with it. Steer clear of cleansers that are alcohol based as these can strip the skin. In addition to this, do not wash your face in a rough matter – just pat it dry.
